Post-Treatment Instructions
Immediately After Treatment
- Redness and swelling are expected and may feel like a mild sunburn for 24–48 hours.
- Apply a bland, non-irritating moisturizer (such as petrolatum ointment).
- If mild pinpoint oozing occurs, keep the area moist with ointment until it resolves.
- Use cold compresses or ice packs as needed.
- Cleanse the skin gently with a mild cleanser—do not rub or scrub.
Days 1–3
- Continue using a gentle cleanser and moisturizer.
- Do not pick, scrub, or exfoliate.
- Skin may feel rough (“sandpaper texture”) or appear bronzed as tiny spots heal and slough off. This is normal.
- Avoid tight clothing over treated areas to prevent irritation.
First Week
- Avoid:
- Smoking
- Excessive alcohol
- Swimming, hot tubs, or saunas
- Direct heat exposure
- Heavy exercise or sweating for the first 24–48 hours (light activity is fine if skin is comfortable)
- Makeup may usually be applied after 24 hours if the skin is intact and not irritated.
Skin Care Products
- Use only non-irritating, fragrance-free products for at least 1 week.
- Avoid retinoids, glycolic/salicylic acid, or exfoliating scrubs until peeling has resolved.
- Once the skin is fully healed and sensitivity has diminished, you may return to your regular skincare and makeup.
Sun Protection
- Daily sunscreen is essential for at least 4 weeks post-treatment.
- Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. Reapply every 2 hours if outdoors.
- Wear protective clothing and a wide-brimmed hat when outside.
Healing Expectations
- Mild redness, swelling, tightness, or dryness is normal.
- Bronzing and flaking typically resolve in 3–7 days.
